Auf der Readercon 22, Conference on Imaginative Literature, in Burlington, Massachusetts wurden die Gewinner der diesjährigen Shirley Jackson Awards bekannt gegeben. Der Namensgeberin und ihrem literarischen Schaffen entsprechend zeichnen die Awards Romane aus den Genres psychologischer Thriller, Horror und dunkle Phantastik aus.
Mit Mr. Shivers von Robert Jackson Bennett zählt in diesem Jahr ein Roman zu den Preisträgern, der dank Piper bereits auf dem deutschen Buchmarkt erschienen ist.
