Seit 1971 werden sie jährlich verliehen, die British Fantasy Awards. Auf der diesjährigen FantasyCon in Brighton war es dann wieder soweit, in verschiedenen Kategorien fand die Bekanntgabe der glücklichen Sieger und die Ehrung ihrer fantastischen Werke statt. Ebenso wurde mit dem Karl Edward Wagner Special Award und dem Sydney J. Bounds Award for Best Newcomer zwei Autoren für ihr Schaffen geehrt.
